Let’s talk identity – who you are, why you are, and where you are.
I am a writer at heart, professor by occupation, mother, and wife. I have dedicated my creative work, scholarship, speaking, and consulting to encouraging voiceless and ‘othered’ individuals to intimately know their value. Identity is the root of most of our interactions. How we see ourselves matters. Our visibility in the media also matters. I know this because I am a Black woman of Nigerian descent born, raised, and living in America. I am also a media psychologist who understands the impact of representation and how we use entertainment on how we make sense of our reality.
